The Tamil section of kamakoti.org - www.kamakoti.org/tamil was commenced as directed by Their Holinesses Pujyasri Shankaracharya Swamijis with the objective of making available the Tamil Books and Publications of Shrimatham online for the benefit of the online community. Content on a variety of topics were made available online , including the discourses of His Holiness - Deivathin Kural, other discourses, articles on Dharma, Adi Shankara, Ayurveda, Sadvishaya, Shlokas etc. At present, there are around 3200 web pages in Tamil. Initially, these pages were based on Windows True-Type Fonts, necessitating the download and installation of fonts on the reader's system.

On 15th Jan 2012, on the occassion of Pongal, the Tamil pages that were using legacy fonts have been converted to Unicode Fonts - making it accessible to more people, facilitating better navigation and enabling the option of Tamil-based search.
